What Youmax actually is
Youmax ("Youmax: AI Looksmax Become Hot", Google Play package com.luminarlab.looksmaxx; iOS listing "Youmax - Looksmaxx Become Hot", id6753069128) is developed by LuminarLab. Its listing describes a Face Symmetry Checker, Skin Analysis, Jawline Enhancement and Glow-Up Advice, and a paid AI Beauty Score built from an uploaded photo.
Third-party app-analytics aggregators put the Android app at 4.29 out of 5 stars from roughly 4,300 ratings and about 68,000 total downloads — a real, sizeable user base. Google Play's own listing is JavaScript-rendered and didn't expose these numbers to a direct fetch, so this figure comes from aggregator data, not a quote off Google's own page.
Its iOS listing, by contrast, shows only 2 ratings — most of its user base appears to be on Android.
No ad SDKs, but a real third-party AI vendor holds the photo
Youmax is free to download. Its iOS listing shows in-app purchases at $0.99, $1.99, and $2.99, described as "Premium" options; Skin Analysis and the AI Beauty Score are named as paid features. Its Android listing is JavaScript-rendered and didn't expose a confirmed price list to a direct fetch.
Its own published privacy policy states "no face photos are stored on our servers (databases, object storage, or logs); they exist only transiently in memory during processing," with photos retained on-device until deleted, account data removed, or the app uninstalled. The same policy states plainly: "we do not use advertising SDKs in the app."
But that policy also discloses photos are sent to xAI for face-rating inference, where they "may retain the image and related outputs for up to 30 days for abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and legal compliance before deletion." Analytics run through Firebase Analytics and PostHog, with Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports and Supabase as backend infrastructure.

Not the same as other "Youmax"/"YouMax" apps
"YouMax - Looksmax Your Looks" (developer NEURASYNC, App Store id6475668169) shows 4.1 stars from 92 ratings and states on its own listing, "the developer does not collect any data from this app" — a materially different privacy claim than LuminarLab's Youmax. A third listing, "UmaxApp Look Max by Youmax" (Google Play package umax.looksmaxai.maxlookaipro), also uses overlapping branding and isn't confirmed to be the same product as either.
This page covers only the LuminarLab listing — check the developer name and package id before assuming two "Youmax"/"YouMax" listings are the same app.
Where Mogalytics actually differs
- A continuous live-camera reading settled over 30 frames, not a single uploaded photo.
- No frame or photo ever leaves the browser — not to an ad network, and not to a third-party AI vendor like xAI, unlike Youmax's own disclosed retention window.
- A single $12 one-time unlock with a fixed, published price — not tiered in-app purchases layered on top of a free download.
What it doesn't do: replace a live duel, diagnose anything, or guarantee a specific score. See the practice guide for what the six measurements actually are.
